About This Provider

Dr. Akanksha Gupta, BDS, MS is a residency-trained specialist in TMJ disorders and orofacial pain at the TMJ Orofacial Disorders Center in Seattle, Washington. She completed a specialty residency and Master of Science degree at the University of Minnesota, one of the few programs in the country dedicated entirely to this field. Before joining the practice, she served as a clinical instructor at the UCLA Orofacial Pain Clinic, where she trained other dental professionals in advanced TMJ and facial pain management. Dr. Gupta is Board Certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain (Diplomate #ABOP1479, certified 2018) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, credentials that require passing rigorous written and oral examinations and demonstrating clinical expertise well beyond what general dental training provides. Her research on TMJ treatment has been published in the Journal of the American Dental Association. She and Dr. Pehling have collectively delivered more than 10,000 oral appliances and offer in-office minimally invasive surgical options, including ultra-thin TMJ arthroscopy, that few orofacial pain practices in the Pacific Northwest provide.
