Dr. Ashleigh Weyh is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Chicago who holds three graduate degrees: a Doctor of Medicine (MD), a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), and a Master of Public Health (MPH). This combination is rare in oral surgery. Most oral and maxillofacial surgeons hold a dental degree and complete a surgical residency; Dr. Weyh also completed full medical school training, which expands her ability to manage patients across the boundary between dental and medical care. She applies this foundation to a wide range of procedures, including robotic-assisted dental implant placement using the YOMI guidance system, orthognathic jaw surgery, facial trauma management, TMJ evaluation and treatment, and orofacial pain care. Her bone grafting work incorporates platelet-rich plasma, platelet-rich fibrin, bone morphogenetic protein, and stem cell banking to support healing and bone growth. For pain management after surgery, she uses Exparel, a non-opioid extended-release local anesthetic that provides up to 72 hours of post-operative pain control. Her clinical scope extends to cosmetic facial surgery, including facelift, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, and hair transplantation using the Neograft system.
