Dr. Curtis Imel is a board-certified orthodontic specialist serving the Illinois Valley through two locations in Peru and Ottawa, Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and completed his orthodontic specialty training at Loyola University. Before entering private practice, Dr. Imel served as a dentist in the United States Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he led as Chief of Restorative Dentistry and received the United States Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. That record of precision and accountability carries directly into his clinical work today. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he holds one of the highest voluntary credentials available to orthodontists in the country. With more than 25 years of focused orthodontic experience, Dr. Imel treats patients of all ages and stays current through advanced continuing education including Kois Center courses. He views orthodontic care as more than a clinical outcome. It builds lasting relationships with patients and families and creates meaningful change in how people feel about their appearance and their lives.
