Dr. Darrell Boychuk, DDS, MSc, is one of a small group of dentists in the United States who holds active board certification from the American Board of Orofacial Pain. He began his career as a general dentist, which gives him a broad clinical baseline that most pain specialists lack. He later returned to the University of Alberta to complete a formal residency and earn a Master of Science degree in temporomandibular disorders and oral and facial pain. That advanced training sharpened his ability to diagnose conditions that general dentists often miss or mismanage. Dr. Boychuk practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area and taught at the UCSF School of Dentistry before bringing his expertise to the Twin Cities through HealthPartners in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He also serves as a speaker and instructor in dental sleep medicine, a field closely tied to orofacial pain.
