Dr. James F. Gianakakis has practiced endodontics for 34 years and brings a level of academic depth that few specialists in the western Chicago suburbs can match. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School in 1988 and completed both a Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science from Northwestern in 1990, a dual credential that reflects research-grade training in the specialty. After graduating, he joined the Endodontic Faculty at Northwestern University, and he continues to teach as an adjunct clinical professor at Midwestern University today. He was inducted into the International College of Dentists in 2000, one of the most selective peer-recognition honors in dentistry. In practice, he uses three-dimensional imaging and surgical microscopy to detect anatomy and infections that conventional X-rays miss entirely.
