About This Provider

Dr. Joan Wang is a Board Certified Orofacial Pain specialist and the founder of The Orofacial Pain Center in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a DDS and an MS and earned her Diplomate status with the American Board of Orofacial Pain in 2022 (ABOP1578). She is the first and only provider in Illinois to hold dual board certification in both orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine. By Fall 2026, Dr. Wang will become the first board-certified orofacial pain specialist in the United States to complete Fellowship training with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, a milestone that places her at the leading edge of integrative pain care in the country. She also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry for Distance Learning and Telehealth at the University of Southern California. Her clinical scope covers TMJ disorders, facial pain, headaches, migraines, and dental sleep medicine. Dr. Wang approaches every case with a whole-health framework that combines evidence-based conventional medicine and complementary therapies, designed to help patients who have spent years searching for answers finally find a path forward.
