Dr. John Hur holds both a Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCSF and a Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, a dual-degree combination shared by a very small number of practicing oral surgeons. Board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he completed his surgical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center, one of the most rigorous hospital-based training programs in the country. Before dental and medical school, Dr. Hur graduated with honors in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and contributed to craniofacial research during his time at UCSF, a scientific foundation that informs his precise, evidence-based approach to surgery.
