Dr. Keith Yount, DDS, MAGD, ABOP, founded Raleigh Facial Pain in Raleigh, NC and is the only board-certified private practice Orofacial Pain Specialist in the city. He is one of just four such specialists in the entire state of North Carolina. Dr. Yount earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed a three-year residency at the University of Florida's Parker E. Mahan Facial Pain Center, a dedicated craniofacial pain training program. He holds Diplomate certification from the American Board of Orofacial Pain and has focused exclusively on orofacial pain since 1997, building 27 years of specialized clinical experience. His approach treats the chewing system as an orthopedic structure, using custom orthotics, biofeedback with EMG measurement, and coordinated physical therapy to address the root causes of pain without surgery or reliance on medications. Dr. Yount has lectured nationally at AGD and AAOP conferences and published in Dentistry Today, AAOP News, and Practical Pain Management. He also earned a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2005, one of the profession's advanced achievement credentials.
