Dr. Paul Goforth holds a DMD and a Master of Science in endodontics, credentials that reflect advanced specialty training focused exclusively on diagnosing and treating the inside of the tooth. As part of the four-endodontist team at Professional Endodontics of Illinois, he brings the full depth of that training to every appointment across the practice's three Chicago-area locations. Dr. Goforth uses 3D CBCT imaging and high-magnification dental microscopes to find root canals and fractures that standard X-rays often miss, allowing him to treat complex cases with a level of precision that general dentistry equipment cannot match. He performs one-visit root canal therapy in most cases, microsurgical procedures for deep infections that require direct access to the root tip, and retreatments when a prior root canal has broken down. For patients who have been told extraction is their only option, Dr. Goforth conducts a thorough advanced-diagnostic evaluation to determine whether tooth preservation is possible. He sees patients in English and Spanish and treats every case with the same care he would want for his own family.
