Dr. Richard A. Battistoni has practiced orthodontics for 40 years and co-founded Battistoni | Beam | Polivka Orthodontics, one of the Chicago area's most established orthodontic practices. His connection to the specialty began in childhood, when he worked in his father's orthodontic office and learned the craft before earning his DDS and orthodontic specialty certificate from Loyola University in 1987. He holds Diplomate status from the American Board of Orthodontics, the specialty's highest voluntary credential, earned through rigorous written and clinical examinations beyond standard licensure requirements. From 1989 to 1992, he served as a Clinical Professor in Loyola's Department of Orthodontics, training the next generation of specialists. That mentorship continues today: Dr. John W. Polivka, now one of his partners, trained under his guidance. Dr. Battistoni holds Diamond status with Invisalign and has used the system since its earliest days, successfully treating patients other providers turned away as unsuitable candidates.
