Dr. Robert Kaspers has practiced orthodontics in Northbrook, Illinois since 1984, bringing more than 40 years of clinical experience to patients across the North Shore. He earned his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University, his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan, and his Master of Science in Orthodontics from Northwestern University Dental School. What distinguishes Dr. Kaspers from most orthodontists is his focus on jaw function and joint health alongside tooth alignment. He developed a diagnostic technique for achieving balanced occlusion using 3D radiograph technology, identified the Five Condylar Positions, and founded ProActive Orthodontics to teach these findings to fellow dental practitioners. He is one of a small number of orthodontists who uses cone beam CT scanning to evaluate jaw joint positioning in three dimensions, enabling more precise treatment planning for both standard orthodontic cases and complex TMD/TMJ disorders.
