He earned his Bachelor in Biological Sciences from Northern Illinois University in 1970, his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1973, and completed a formal specialty residency in Periodontology at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 1975. Dr. Ryan holds the Diplomate designation from the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID), a credential that represents examined, verified mastery in implant dentistry held by a small fraction of practitioners in Illinois.
