About This Provider
Dr. Scott G. Smoron, DDS, MSD, founded Smiles By Smoron in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, carrying forward an orthodontic legacy that began when he first worked in the office in 1984. He formally took over the practice in 2000 after earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame, his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University, and his Master of Science in Dentistry with an orthodontic specialty residency from Saint Louis University. Dr. Smoron is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, and the Chicago Dental Society. He focuses on cases that fall outside the standard orthodontic playbook, including airway restriction, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, and jaw discrepancies that many providers refer directly to oral surgery. Using techniques such as MARPE, TAD implants, and airway-guided treatment planning, Dr. Smoron builds individualized treatment paths that help patients avoid surgical interventions whenever clinically possible. He personally plans and completes every patient's care from start to finish, combining technologies and approaches that he describes as a combination found nowhere else.
