About This Provider
Dr. Stephen M. Benjamin is a board-trained endodontist and co-founder of Midwest Endodontic Specialists LTD in Peoria, Illinois. A Peoria native, Dr. Benjamin ranked first in his dental school class all four years at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His graduating class scored 4th nationally on the National Board Examinations. He completed a three-year endodontic residency and earned a Master of Science degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where his MS research on ultrasound applications in endodontics was conducted in collaboration with NASA Johnson Space Center for potential deployment on the International Space Station. Dr. Benjamin treats infected, cracked, and traumatically injured teeth using Zeiss Surgical Operating Microscopes and Dexis Digital Radiography, tools that deliver a level of diagnostic precision unavailable in most general dental offices. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Peoria District Dental Society and holds membership in the American Association of Endodontists and the Illinois Endodontic Association. His clinical mission is to replace the fear surrounding root canal therapy with a procedure patients consistently describe as far better than expected.
