Dr. Steven A. Koos holds both an MD and a DDS, making him one of only a handful of dual-degreed oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the United States. He earned his DDS from Northwestern University Dental School in 1996 and his MD from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2000, completing his surgical residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland and MetroHealth Hospital in 2004. This combined training gives him the clinical depth to manage complex cases that call for the judgment of both a physician and a dental surgeon, from routine extractions to maxillofacial trauma to full-arch implant reconstruction. Dr. Koos has been placing dental implants for more than two decades and has successfully treated thousands of implant patients throughout the Chicago area. He uses i-CAT 3-D imaging to plan every surgical case with precision before beginning any procedure. Patients consistently report minimal post-operative pain and swelling, and Dr. Koos personally calls patients the same evening after surgery to check on their recovery. He treats patients of all ages at ORA Oral Surgery and Implant Studio in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood and speaks both English and Spanish.
