Dr. Thomas C. Sonneveld, DDS, MS, has practiced orthodontics for 31 years as the founder and owner of Sonneveld Orthodontics in Orland Park, Illinois. His path to specialty practice is unusually deep: he began his clinical career as a Registered Nurse before earning his dental degree from Loyola University College of Dentistry in 1986, served three years as a General Dental Officer in the United States Air Force, and then completed his Master's degree and Certificate of Orthodontics at The Ohio State University. That breadth, spanning nursing, military dentistry, and orthodontic specialty training, gives him a diagnostic foundation most orthodontists simply do not have. His governing principle is the 'My Child Rule': he will not recommend any treatment he would not recommend to his own children or family members. Patients consistently recognize his perfectionist attention to detail and his honest, direct communication style. Dr. Sonneveld is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, and serves patients from Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Frankfort, Mokena, Homer Glen, and the surrounding southwest Chicago suburbs.
